At what stage in pregnancy is the online Pilates programme suitable for?

The programme is suitable for any stage in pregnancy so long as you have been cleared by your doctor or midwife to take part in exercise during your pregnancy and you are not experiencing any complications. The programme has been designed by a registered pelvic health physiotherapist in New Zealand and it is designed especially for pregnancy.

Who is the online pregnancy Pilates programme not suitable for?

If you are experiencing a pregnancy that has any complications, it is important to seek individual advice from your doctor or midwife before starting any exercise programme so they are able to tell you what is safe for you and your baby. Bethany is unable to provide this type of advice on an individual basis as it must come from your own healthcare professional.

Can I use the online Pilates programme if I have pelvic girdle pain (PGP)?

Yes. Many of the exercises in the programme should be helpful for women experiencing PGP in pregnancy. Listen to your body and ensure you are comfortable at all times. The majority of the exercises support symmetry through the pelvis. If any exercises are not comfortable or aggravate your symptoms swap them for something that is more comfortable. You could contact Bethany for further guidance.

How long is access to the online Pilates programme?

Once you sign up, access is for 12 months to the online programme.

How should I use the online pregnancy Pilates programme to get the most out of it?

Bethany recommends using the programme on a weekly basis throughout your pregnancy. International guidelines recommend women with an uncomplicated pregnancy exercise for 30 minutes on most if not all days of the week and recommend a combination of strength and aerobic training. This online programme makes up 4 of your weekly 30 minute exercise sessions. Combine it with some other exercise you enjoy such as walking, swimming or gym work and you’re meeting you pregnancy exercise requirements.

I don’t live in New Zealand can I still access the online programme?

Yes - the programme is available worldwide. Online payment is via Stripe and you will be prompted to enter your credit card details for payment on the sign up page. A currency conversion to NZD will be completed automatically.

Are my card details safe?

Yes. All payments are taken via stripe. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the highest possible level of certification available in the payments industry.
