About Yoga

"YOGA IS A LIGHT, WHICH ONCE LIT, WILL NEVER DIM. THE BETTER YOUR PRACTICE, THE BRIGHTER THE FLAME.”

BK LYENGAR

Yoga is not a religion but a physical practice that encompasses three main components:

  1. exercise (asanas)

  2. breathing (pranayama)

  3. relaxation (meditation)

Yoga is a Sanskrit word that translates into the process of uniting the mind, body and spirit. Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India and has developed over thousands of years to embrace a wide range of styles and disciplines.

The practice of yoga is a journey of self discovery, it really doesn’t matter how flexible you are or if you can touch your toes or not. With regular practice you should start to see small changes in your body and to the way you feel.
